It is important because you as a buyer have to get the most value of your money. After hiring well trained home inspector, you need to do some discussions during the inspection. It allows you to ask questions and receive answers to those questions. Home inspectors have no problem answering your questions, no matter how stupid you may think your questions are. The truth is that there are no stupid questions. During the home inspection you can ask your home inspector about everything you are concerned about. Everybody has different concerns in choosing a home so that you should tell the inspector all about it. Then, you can also ask the drainage around the home's exterior, how to keep the basement dry, or prolonging the life of roofing etc. It is also possible for you to check oil tanks. You can ask the inspector if there are any signs of such tanks. When it comes to electrical issues, the knob, tube wiring or aluminum wiring have to be checked also especially if the home is old. Then, do not forget the plumbing. The inspector should check it well. For your heating system, ask the inspector what each of the different parts of the heating system are. Home inspectors like to show how much they know, so they will be eager to tell you. Finally, home inspector should tell you the structure of the home, but sometimes it cannot be seen if it is inside the walls. However, you cannot ask some questions such as "Should I buy this home?" "Do you think this home is right for me?" And, "Do you think the price is right?" Truly, home inspector cannot answer those questions. They only provides you guidance to decide whether or not you should purchase the home. |
